Full Game Synopsis
Welcome to LIFESONG, where life is a song -- literally.

In 2009, music around the world came to a screeching halt. Composers, lyricists, and performers everywhere simply lost all inspiration for unknown reasons. It was as if the new music of the world dried up and simply vanished into thin air. Unable to cope with an existence without the art of music, the population resorted to the rediscovery of music: everything from Bach to Notorious B.I.G., there was something that could satisfy a person's dire need for something new. The obscure bands of the industry became new sensations, one after another being discovered and raved over.

And somehow, somewhere along the way, something very strange began to happen.

Unique situations began to occur in which people were experiencing one of two things: they either discovered a song that fit them so well, described their life and their personalities so perfectly that it was eerie, or they felt a connection to a song only to realize that their life was slowly following its pattern -- a Lifesong. Furthermore, songs began to take hold of people's hearts in the form of Lovesongs. Judas Monroe of Cincinatti was the first to document his case... More have stepped forward since. Some believe it to be a new age trend, while extremists think it's some sort of demonic phenomenon. Still others believe it's a hoax, something that people are going along with in order to feel special.

Those who are experiencing this find it both scary and confusing. They do not for a second believe that it's something they're merely 'going along with' -- especially not those who feel as if they no longer have control over their own fates. How awful must it be to live, knowing what your life is to become? Georgia Hall of Charleston has been quoted as saying that she wished she'd have never listened to music again, if she could have avoided being dealt her Lovesong -- is it that heartbreaking? Or does it merely take the fun and guesswork out of life? Who knows.

Scientists around the globe began working on theories and hypotheses. Is it real? Is it a mental disorder? Or is there truly something physical that ails these seemingly unique people? Under rigorous research and study, tests slowly became open to the public. It was discovered that when one is exposed to his or her song(s), physical reactions occur within the body. Not only the obvious signs -- a heightened sensitivity, increased heartrate, perspiration -- but deeply internal reactions that cannot be controlled. Flickers of activity, deep in the recesses of the brain. Jolts of erratic heartbeats. Temperatures rise, pupils dilate, and in more than twenty percent of the cases that were studied, patients vomitted. What had started as a peculiar trend was suddenly serious.

Some doctors and researchers coined it as a disease, or a disorder. Others called it a condition. People everywhere who are afflicted with this oddity have their own opinions -- some call it a blessing, others a curse. It's New Age politics in a way; liberal groups rally and demand that it be recognized as nothing more than a human trait, like sexual orientation or hair color. Uber Conservatives fight back, some even to the point of supporting quarantines and research on the condition using unwilling subjects. Underground organizations are banding together to try and help one another cope with what's happening to them. Countries and their leaders constantly feel on the edge of revolution, and all for something so small. So simple.

What exactly is going on? How did it happen, when will it end? No one knows for sure.

Who has a Lifesong, or even a Lovesong? Many do, many don't. Still many more are discovering theirs on a daily basis -- hopeful teenage girls who desire everlasting love listen to music constantly in hopes to find their own Lovesongs, while some avoid music at any and all costs. Some deny it out of fear, some hide it in shame, and some flaunt it happily. It all boils down to one thing:

What's your song?
